David Freeman

David presents Blues and Boogie, every Sunday from 5pm.

During Blues and Boogie David shares his enthusiasm for all flavours of the blues and demonstrates how the power of the blues underpins so much of the music that Jazz FM plays.

David has been involved with Jazz FM since the mid nineties when for a while he was Head of Music and Programme Controller. In honest moments he readily confesses to preferring presenting the music he loves to the necessary discipline of administration.

David’s broadcasting career has stretched from presenting Science in Action on the BBC World Service, daytime TV presenter on the BBC show Pebble Mill at One and for five years he interviewed the authors of the world for The Bookshow on Sky. Considering he started life as a physics teacher with an ambition to be a blues guitar hero he considers himself very lucky to be free of the science and still reveling in the three magic chords of the blues on Jazz FM. He now admits that his debut at the Albert Hall fronting his own all-star blues band now looks unlikely!
