Wayne Warlow, director of the Porthcawl Jazz Festival, has been inducted as a new ‘Master’ of the The Worshipful Livery Company of Wales in the Welsh Capital, Cardiff.

Formerly called the Welsh Livery Guild, until it’s Royal Charter award in 2012, the organisation supports arts, science and technology.

It was founded in 1993 along the lines of the Livery Companies of London which comprise of long-standing and recently created trade associations. These are nearly entirely styled the "Worshipful Company of..." with their respective craft, trade or profession.

Mr Warlow, who has a background in film, tv and radio and a top music director in Wales, said, “raising funds through events and donations, the guild is able to help young people of Wales achieve their goals and ambitions. Through its awards and sponsorships, many young people are encouraged to follow their dreams and build on their talents.”

The next Porthcawl Jazz Festival is 17th - 19th April 2015.
