Trumpeter Irvin Mayfield has resigned as artistic director of the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra following a series of investigations into financial affairs.
Trumpeter Irvin Mayfield has succumbed to political pressure and resigned as artistic director of the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra. The Grammy award winning musician and entrepreneur has been under increasing scrutiny for the mingling of Orchestra finances with money from the charity supporting the city's library system.
