Pianist Chick Corea will celebrate his 75th birthday with an extended residency at New York’s Blue Note Club from October 19th to December 12th.
Pianist Chick Corea celebrates his 75th birthday on June 12th 2016. In celebration, later this year he is planning an extended residency at New York’s Blue Note Club from October 19th to December 12th.
During the eight week stint he will team up with many musicians in several bands featuring flautist Hubert Laws, saxophonist Ravi Coltrane, guitarist John McLaughlin, bassist Victor Wooten and Lenny White on drums. He will partner with friend and long-time colleague Gary Burton on vibes, and celebrate the work of Miles Davis alongside saxophonist Kenny Garrett and Jazz FM presenter, bassist Marcus Miller
Corea will also play in a number of piano duos, including with Brad Mehldau, as well as revisiting classic material from the band Return To Forever.
