Clark Tracey’s Stan Tracey Legacy Big Band

Pianist Stan Tracey who died in 2013 was an outstanding figure in the Jazz world and was known as the ‘Grandfather of British Jazz’. His music continues to live and develop thanks to the continued enthusiasm and dedication of his son, leading UK drummer and bandleader Clark Tracey. The Stan Tracey Legacy Big Band is crammed with British talent. The band's line-up for the 17th is:
Trumpets: Nathan Bray (TBC), Mark Armstrong, Martin Shaw, Alex Ridout
Trombones: Mark Nightingale, Martin Gladdish, Pete North
Saxes: Art Themen (Tnr/sop), Simon Allen (Tnr), Sam Mayne - (Alt), Alan Barnes (Alt), Jay Craig (Bari)
Rhythm: Mark Edwards (Piano), Andrew Cleyndert (Bass), Clark Tracey (Drums)
There really is no other big band with this sound – Stan’s genius comes shining through.
The band will be playing Stan’s compositions and arrangements dating back to 1966 and up to his final masterpiece, Genesis.
A perfect finale to the summer season. Highly recommended!
