Chris Ingham Quartet: “The Jazz of Dudley Moore”
Tuesday, February 20th
Chris Ingham – piano, Paul Higgs – trumpet, Marianne Windham – double bass, George Double – drums
The beloved comic actor Dudley Moore (1935-2002) was also one of the UK’s most dazzling, swinging jazz pianists and a composer of with and depth. Following their acclaimed Hoagy project, the Chris Ingham Quartet revisit Dudley’s music with sounds from the fabulous 1960s Decca jazz trio albums, the TV show Not Only But Also (1965-70) and the brilliant movie soundtracks for Bedazzled (1967) and 30 Is A Dangerous Age, Cynthia (1968).
A frequent sell-out at Ronnie Scott’s, this show is a vibrant and moving homage to Dudley, full of swing, humour and warmth. An absolute must-see!
