This Christmas let us provide the perfect soundtrack to your plans. Christmas Eve starts with a great festive twist on Vinny Marino’s TransAtlantic Jazz, from beneath the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree in New York City. Before Sarah Ward’s Christmas Collection at 7pm which takes us on a relaxing journey into the small hours as the hectic weeks prior to Christmas finally reaches its climax.

On Christmas Day, we delve into the archives and at 1pm there’s chance to hear the Jazz FM Launch Concert from March 1990 with the voice of jazz superstar Ella Fitzgerald, backed by the Count Basie Orchestra. Recorded at the Royal Albert Hall, this programme is presented by Jazz FM’s Chris Philips, who was the lucky one to introduce Ella on stage that night.

Then it’s time for Christmas Day with The Dankworths, as Alex and Jacqui - the children of the legendary Johnny Dankworth and Cleo Lane - join the Jazz FM presenter lineup for this special programme of personally selected jazz, direct from family-founded performance venue in Milton Keynes - The Stables. This truly brings the warm family feeling of Christmas to life from 2pm to 5pm.

Plus Jamie Crick returns to Jazz FM.  Known for his Christmas Day Request programme, Jamie plays songs chosen by you as well as its presenters and the superstars of jazz, blues and soul.

Then at 7pm, Grammy winning bassist Marcus Miller, who has played on and produced music for Miles Davis, Luther Vandross, Aretha Franklin, David Sanborn, Dizzy Gillespie and countless more, presents a special Christmas Day edition of Dinner Jazz. Marcus will play some of his favourite relaxing music for the evening with a Christmas twist.
