Tammy Weis, fresh from a great interview on the Glide Home, played Pizza On The Park in London on Thursday 19th and had a very special guest. Making a rare UK live appearance was Randy Bachman from the legendary rock act Bachman Turner Overdrive. Tammy asked me to MC the show and was on top form doing tracks from her new album ‘Where I need to be’ with a very tight band. Her music is poignant and personal, but live she also swings quite a bit!
Then I introduced Randy Bachman, and he did a fantastic acoustic version of ‘You ain’t seen nothin’ yet’ which brought the house down. Here’s my camera phone footage!
Randy has had a very successful career since the BTO days of the 1970s and even recorded two jazz albums. He’s going to send me both of them, so listen out…one afternoon soon you may well hear a track or two! If you are a fan, he told me BTO are reforming for a new single in May and a fresh album in August. between the two releases they play the High Voltage Festival July 24-25th.
