For Mike it all began in 1983 when Mike moved to Magaluf to work at Tokio Joes. It’s from this era that Mike’s love of Jazz / Funk / Soul really developed. The lure of playing records in the sunshine at eighteen and all the trappings that went with it seemed a much more attractive opportunity than playing the drums at the Old Joanna in North Wales. So off he went.

If it’s Roy Ayers, Lonnie 'Liston' Smith and Ronnie Laws or funk from the likes of The Metors, Rick James or Funkadelic. Or the sultry soul of Phyllis Hyman, Teddy Pendergrass and Keni Burke it has to be Jazz FM’s Funky Sensation each Saturday from 6pm.
