Sir Cliff Richard has announced details of a new album of jazz covers.
The veteran singer, whose career spans over five decades, is to follow in the footsteps of Robbie Williams’s 2001 record Swing When You’re Winning with the forthcoming release.

The entertainer has had a UK chart hit in every decade since the 1950s – a feat only equalled by Elvis Presley – and he is hoping for success in what is a new genre for him.
The 12-track album, called Bold as Brass, will be released by EMI Records on October 11th, three days before his 70th birthday.
Richard told Reuters:
“With the incredible creative input of seasoned American producer Michael Omartian, and the live sound of Nashville’s best swing musicians, Bold as Brass is an album I’ve planned and dreamt about for years.
It’s been a long time coming, but what better way to mark my 70th birthday than to celebrate a genre of music which is both timeless and sheer class.”
The star will showcase his new music during six concerts at London’s Royal Albert Hall this autumn.
The album is being recorded in Nashville with Grammy-winning producer Michael Omartian and the full track listing is as follows:
