Steve’s Track of the Week: Candy Dulfer

Crazy for Candy!

Another one of my fave sax players… Candy Dulfer’s been on my radar since her debut smash ‘Lily Was Here’ with Dave Stewart back in 1990. And she earned her a Grammy nomination for the album ‘Sexuality’.

Candy’s from Amsterdam in the Netherlands and started playing saxophone since the age of six. She was no doubt influenced by her saxophonist father Hans Dulfer. She opened for Madonna on a European tour and has performed with Prince and Van Morrison too.

Her new CD ‘Crazy’ is her eleventh solo release and it takes her music in a new direction. Seven of the tracks were produced by Black Eyed Peas man Printz Board.

My Track of the Week is the very cool and mellow ‘Too Close‘, Candy at her best. Hear the track all this week on Fusion Flavours.

Find out more about Candy at her website.
